Jennifer Slover, PhD, LPC-S, NCC, Registered Play Therapist Supervisor
Hello!
I'm Dr. Jenn, and I'm excited you have found my page! I love working with children and adolescents to help them navigate through life, learn to better understand their emotions, and build family relationships.
I practice in a beautiful and fun little old house near downtown Huntsville, Alabama. I am a Licensed Professional Counselor-Supervisor, National Certified Counselor, and a Registered Play Therapist Supervisor. I received my Ph.D. in Counselor Education and Supervision. I have been practicing for almost 10 years and absolutely love what I do! I have gotten to work with children to improve their emotional dysregulation, helped teenagers overcome depression and anxieties, and I have helped families build attachments with their loved ones. I love being able to walk along someone's side and help figure out answers.
I utilize a variety of techniques, including play therapy and expressive arts. I see that there is a powerful impact that play therapy and expressive arts therapy approaches have in supporting an individual and families in self-expression and personal growth. I follow an eclectic therapeutic mindset that allows me to select interventions that will best match your needs.
When I am not working, I love spending time with my 7 furry children, and my family, going on long hikes, and traveling to new sights! I have a spunky and adventurous 1-year old. I'm also always rescuing an animal. So I basically have my own zoo at home ;)
The therapeutic process is precisely that--a process. It takes time, hard work, and dedication. I want to walk along your side during this process while simultaneously providing opportunities that help facilitate your growth.
