Tiffany Scales, MS, ALC

Greetings!

 

​My name is Tiffany Scales, I am an Associate License Counselor here in Huntsville, AL. I am glad that you may be considering counseling services here at Play and Grow. Keep reading, and you will learn more about me!

 

I have been practicing in the field for five years now, and I enjoy providing therapeutic services to those who seek them. I obtained my BS degree in psychology from Tennessee State University and my MS degree in Counseling Psychology from Alabama A&M University. As a counselor, I hope to facilitate change that helps clients overcome personal challenges; while displaying an empathetic and compassionate disposition. Through a collaborative effort, I desire to work with clients to develop a healthy, meaningful life.

 

Past services include providing extensive therapeutic services to children and adolescents within the school systems as a school-based therapist and as a therapist in a private practice setting. I have worked with children, adolescents, and young adults to help with life’s anxieties, depression, emotional dysregulation, and trauma. I have worked closely with families and parents to help with repairing/understanding family dynamics and enhancing parenting skills.

 

The techniques I use are eclectic. I use art therapy techniques, mindfulness therapy techniques, and play therapy techniques. However, many of my sessions center around the cognitive behavioral therapy model. 

 

Okay, so on to the fun stuff! When I am not working, I enjoy walks in nature, spending time with loved ones, visiting a beautiful coffee shop (I don’t drink coffee though, just teas lol), reading, and obtaining more knowledge that can be useful not only for myself but for my clients as well. 

 

Therapy is a tool that can help individuals navigate life which we all know can be stressful.  Let therapy be your compass. I am here to help you walk towards the right path.
