Adolescent Counseling

Teenage years are often a confusing and challenging time for many individuals. This time of life is filled with excitement, fear, pressure, and anxieties. With so many temptations and choices, you can benefit from help to sort through individual feelings, values, and goals.

You and your therapist will work together to identify the areas that you hope to improve. The therapist will then consider these needs to determine therapeutic approaches that will best help you reach your treatment goals. Most often, you will meet with the therapist individually. With the goals identified, your therapist will engage you in a variety of therapeutic techniques that will challenge and help you on your way to growth. You may gain skills to help you cope with life's challenges; identify motivators to continue your life's growth; learn to express yourself appropriately; recognize your personal strengths to enhance your self-esteem. Overall, the therapist's job is not to judge you or tell you what to do. Their job is to support you and help to renew a sense of hope and optimism.

In the State of Alabama, you can consent to services at the age of 14-years.
